The Vacancy

We love nothing more than supporting you to grow your skills and career too, and that’s why we’re looking for someone to join our our Buying team as a Buying Assistant based on average 2 days a week at a wilko site and then remotely the rest of the week.

As our Buying Assistant you’ll support the Buyer and Assistant Buyer on day-to-day administration and activities to support the implementation of the category strategy and support the end to end buying process. The Categories that this role could cover are cosmetics, medical, facial and skin care.

Taking huge pride in what you do, your role will involve supporting the team with the co-ordination and preparation for range reviews on the category from strategy through to range sign off to ensure completion on time. You’ll manage the sample and product management process dealing with suppliers and the team in the mock shop. Along with

  • Assisting with competitor research including pricing to ensure products are competitively prices.
  • You’ll be responsible for loading projects into the systems ensuring this is kept up to date with the category management team.
  • You’ll manage the tracking of supplier terms ensuring all the supplier terms are signed and logged on the system to ensure rebates are raised correctly and in a timely manner.
  • You’ll be accountable for the setup of new products.
  • Accountable for resolving queries for stores and suppliers.
  • Managing promotional nominations ensuring these are on time and accurate.

For this role we need someone who has at least 1 years’ experience working in Buying Assistant role, who has the ability to work cross functionally and is able to build strong working relationships. Someone who is proficient in using Microsoft programmes such as Excel; is highly organised, who can work to tight deadlines and is confident at communicating at all levels.
