Johnson Controls rely on a broad range of Subcontractors to carry out installation and service works for our customers on sophisticated high value projects across our Buildings Solutions, Fire Suppression, Security (ADT) & HVAC sectors. 

In this role you will need to understand spend requirements, negotiate prices and handle commercial and contractual interactions with external subcontracting companies. You will be responsible for implementing and supporting the creation of key subcontractor partnership business plans based on internal needs, supply market analysis and cost models.

How you will do it:

• Supporting Senior Buyers and Procurement Managers to build and implement sourcing plans 
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and support sourcing strategy creation
• Support contract negotiations across the subcontractor portfolio 
• Manage subcontractor performance, relationships, and post-contract value creation
• Contribute to the end-to-end procurement process; delivering cost savings, spend management and driving innovation
• Build and update pipeline activity and track delivery against plans
• Facilitate and support process such as supplier on boarding, evaluations, and audits
• Creating and issuing RFIs sand RFQs through the eSourcing platform

• Procurement or buying experience with any type of product or service
• Gathering and analysing data to enable sourcing and supplier decision-making 
• Experience working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers 
• Used to working to very tight deadlines
• Confident communicator at all levels
• Strong analytical skills and a creative problem solver 
• Excellent commercial awareness 
• Must have a proactive, adaptable & flexible approach 
• Always aims to ‘make things happen’ and build opportunities 

Preferred:

• Understanding of suncontractor suppliers and contracts
• Experience working within the constrcution industry
• Knowledge or experience of eSourcing
• Willing to work towards the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) accreditation
