What You’ll Do:

Your role will be processing purchase requisitions, issuing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, maintaining inventory optimal inventory levels, quality assurance and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Some of the typical responsibilities will include:

• Research, select and purchase quality products and materials in a timely manner
• Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing and terms
• Process requisitions and update management on status of orders
• Cost reductions of materials through the initiation and participation in the benchmarking process

• Perform other duties/projects/reports as required

Minimum qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Materials Management, Purchasing or similar.
• 3+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ERP/MRP based systems)

• High level of planning, organizational & implementation skills
• Candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision and work effectively in a team environment

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge of Plex ERP/MRP system is a bonus

• Experience in lean concept methodology an asset
