The Business Analyst will support reporting and analytics initiatives for Global Operations, ensuring alignment with core goals and strategic priorities of the company. The Business Analyst will interact directly with key stakeholders to define and manage business needs and requirements. The Business Analyst will partner with the Report Writer/Data Analyst to define and design data assets for multiple programs and projects. These projects will have an enterprise-wide impact, enabling both our engineering and business communities with analytics and performance metrics. This position is at our Austin office. No relocation assistance available for this role.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Elicits business requirements using workshops, interviews, and other requirements gathering techniques.
- Documents reporting and analytics requirements, covering required information for formats, user access, report usage, etc.
- Provides input for designing and developing the “to be†solution (people, process, technology); looks for opportunities to simplify and efficiently scale operations
- Creates and updates existing business process documentation which a focus on illustrating how data is used to drive decisions
- Analyzes requirements and conducts reviews to identify issues with respect to completeness and correctness
- In conjunction with Global Operations, prioritizes requirements, and reconciles conflicts between organizations
- Manages requirements traceability and requirements re-use
- Reviews the designs, prototypes, and other development work products to ensure requirements are correctly understood
- Writes User Acceptance Test (UAT) cases for reports and dashboards, and facilitates execution
- Assists in planning activities. At times, the Business Analyst may be expected to drive or coordinate initiatives as the de facto project manager
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in Information Systems or Business disciplines
- Must have 5+ years in a Business Analyst role, in a technology-focused company (providing s/w or h/w products or services)
- Able to translate business requirements to technical specifications
- Willing and able to challenge business requests based on understanding of business value and priorities
- Able to demonstrate expertise in a variety of Global Operations concepts, practices and procedures
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts/theories for various projects
- Excellent oral and written communication, risk management and leadership skills
- High level of proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
- Have basic understanding or/and hand-on experience of Business Intelligence software, data visualization and reporting tooling (Excel, Power BI, SQL Server, Snowflake) is a plus
- Experience with manufacture or semiconductor industry is a plus
- Must be local to the Austin area, or able to relocate without assistance
- Able to work across time zones and collaborate with remote team
