ABOUT US
At Sydney Trains, our rail services keep Sydney moving by putting our customers at the centre of everything we do. We work with our local communities to deliver safe, timely and efficient rail services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Our trains and network are evolving to meet the needs of our customers now and well into the future. We’re continuing to integrate technological innovations that help us deliver a smarter and more sustainable network.
Our Engineering and Maintenance directorate manages a $1.5 billion annual maintenance program on behalf of Sydney Trains and NSW Trains – delivering a safe, reliable passenger fleet and metropolitan rail network, to meet growing customer demand and keep Sydney moving.
THE ROLE
This is not just another job; it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to challenge how risks are managed on a major Australian rail network. We have a legacy-defining opportunity to impact the safety of track workers through the introduction of leading edge technologies. We are looking for an experienced Business Readiness Lead to join our Engineering and Maintenance Branch to drive the adoption of these technologies into organisational policies, frameworks and processes.
This role plays a pivotal part in designing and supporting the implementation of changes to Sydney Trains Network Rules to facilitate the introduction of Enterprise Track Worker Safety (ETWS) technology and a range of other risk-reduction initiatives. The role is accountable for ensuring change is delivered within a structured change management approach and methodology to obtain the buy in from a range of stakeholders. Key to this role will be your ability to work across the business and supply chain to translate legal and organisational requirements into change on the ground.
In this newly-created role you will be working with a collaborative and supportive team with scope to work independently. The majority of your time will be spent working with stakeholders from our offices and maintenance facilities identifying and driving change. Key to your success will be your ability to embed changes across the business.
This is an ideal role for someone seeking the opportunity to make a difference and drive real, tangible change which makes a difference to our frontline workforce.
ABOUT YOU
You will have drive and passion and enjoy the challenge of introducing transformative change in complex environments. As ‘the champion for change’, you will possess the ability to adapt your proved communication skills, be able to see the bigger picture and to tailor your approach to the needs of a diverse audience.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or have the equivalent industry experience in introducing change into complex, high-risk environments. You will possess technical writing skills suitable for a highly-regulated industry and ISO-accredited organisation. Ideally you will also be familiar with Sydney Trains Network Rules.
