Openreach are recruiting for a Business Partnering and Commercial Finance Manager to join any one of our following offices; London, Birmingham or Bristol on a permanent basis with flexible hybrid working.
The role holder will support the Senior Manager, HQ & Transformation with forecasting and subsequent delivery of Openreach CTIO forecasts and actuals, both in-year and for the MTP. This involves thorough analysis, commentary and reporting, identifying key risks in order for senior stakeholders to make considered decisions.
You'll have the following responsibilities
• Acting as a key business partner to all Openreach CTIO stakeholders (CTIO Director, CTIO Strategy and Governance Director. Demand Planning and Tribe Leads)
• Supporting, as well as challenging, CTIO teams in the development of viable long terms business propositions and forecasts
• Responsible for timely and accurate reporting, including month end reporting consolidating the CTIO results & commentary
• Act as finance controller for CTIO signing off all month-end journals
• Producing monthly dashboard for presentation at monthly Exec meetings and LT
• Identifying risks and opportunities to CTIO MTP
• Manage relationship with BT Digital working as a business partner to ensure that both departments are working cohesively and transparently
• Drive consistency in CTIO forecasting and reporting with wider OR business units
• Lead MTP22 build annually ensuring all operational drivers are reflected in financial forecast and are underpinned
• Sit on capex board reviewing individual business cases inclusive of profitability analysis, cost savings and return on investment, to help identify further areas of opportunity
You'll have the following skills & experience
• Fully qualified accountant
• Strategic thinker with proven experience driving daily concepts to deliver longer term vision with the ability to cut through barriers to bring real clarity and focus to delivering for our customers
• Ability to work across the Executive team to ensure we fulfil the Openreach medium to long term vision
• Highly numerate and accurate financial, analytical and reasoning skills
• Articulate and fluent in oral and written work and an ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, successfully building long term relationships and engagement
• Experience within the telecommunications Industry is desirable but not essential
• Experience of positively influencing performance by using data, commentary, and analysis to inform decision making
• A proven driver of sustainable behavioural change supported through operational alignment, cultural change and their personal leadership
• An ability to matrix-manage cross-business teams to complex and multi-phase solutions (across technology, commercial, product and process design, network design and build)
• Sets agendas, identifies opportunities and promotes the highest standards of best practice and provides insight on finance work area(s) or specialism
