About this role

This vital role provides Business Management and Operations expertise to the MD and their Leadership team to ensure the unit achieves and deliveries its strategic goals.

You will be accountable for providing an effective framework for the day to day management of the MD office, as well as the business planning activities to drive improvements and underpin the business performance. 

This is a highly influential role in what can be a challenging environment.  They will need to be resilient and adept at extracting insights and translating these into balanced and actionable intelligence for the leadership team.

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Produces internal and external material (briefings, slides, keynotes) for MD ensuring key messages are tailored to audience and objectives.  As an example, Operations Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, internal and external engagements, keynote speeches, Performance reviews.

• Act as a source of resolution and recognised expert in business unit for providing guidance and advice on business operations, finance and people initiatives. 

• Lead and drive improvements across the business operations and monitoring function for the unit (internal budget, resourcing, workforce planning) partnering with HR and Finance to deliver the objectives.  

• Lead on unit scorecard and goal creation, ensuring reporting, mechanisms are in place to identify interventions and mitigate risk. 

• Lead and drive unit strategy on behalf of the MD, creating plans and key strategic activities to underpin business objectives.

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to build effective relationships and navigate across levels and functions with ease and diplomacy, building trust and confidence.

• Commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to develop improvement plans and delivery frameworks.

• Results orientated and natural problem solver.

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail. 

• Emotional Intelligence - A knack for managing expectations both internally and externally.

• Creative mindset with inquisitive nature to learn and understand how things work.

• Self-disciplined and ability to work to tight deadlines.
