ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a well established wholesaler in the garment industry. Operating from head office here in Christchurch and supporting a small retail and online arm of the business. A small close knit 'family' team of warehouse, office, sales and management team. Being in the garment industry, the year is quite varied with several peaks and troughs keeping everyone on their toes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

With the incumbent looking for a new challenge after nearly a decade in the business, there will be big shoes to fill here, but equally an opportunity for remarkable candidates to leave their mark. This one isn't for the faint hearted with a varied role where you'll need to manage and prioritise competing demands everyday. Being a small company we're looking for someone prepared to muck in as part of the team - some days that might mean making client coffees, the next helping the warehouse track a lost parcel.

KEY TASKS

Finance management

  • Draft annual accounts (in conjunction with external accountant)
  • GST returns
  • Foreign exchange
  • Debt management & collection

Admin & Office management

  • All freight forwarding - air freight & shipping
  • Supplier & Customer enquiries
  • Supplier negotiations, reviews and management
  • Recruitment
  • Lead team meetings
  • Online store sales management

Executive Support

  • Arrange and coordinate meetings
  • Ad hoc reporting - financial & sales
  • Ad hoc personal assistant duties

ABOUT YOU

As one of the more senior roles in the company, applicants will need to have previous experience in a similar role to be considered. These roles tend to attract a large number of candidates, as such as a minimum we'll be short-listing based on:

  • Previous financial & office management experience
  • Process driven
  • Self-starter and proactive
  • Great communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office / Excel experience
  • As part of the process we do Ministry of Justice checks
