The Division
We are a trusted partner to our clients, within Customer Strategy and Technology, developing and delivering smart, integrated, and sustainable data and analytics solutions which enable evidence-driven decisions to benefit our customers and communities, and leading an uplift in data literacy of use of data insights across the cluster.
The opportunity
Right now, we have an exciting opening for a Business Intelligence Operations Specialist (Front end) to join our Advanced Analytics and Insights team. This position is a permanent full time role based at Macquarie Park with flexible work options available.
You will be responsible to manage the Business Intelligence (BI) user environment for Advanced Analytics and Insights (AAI), including site management, enhanced user experience and optimisation of production dashboards whilst also ensuring optimal customer outcomes through managing procedures, practices, and operations to ensure the efficient release, usage (including uptake) and maintenance of dashboards and self-service tools.
What you will be involved in:
Manage and optimise the Tableau and Power BI sites to collaborate with platform teams to ensure appropriate user access and efficiency are maintained.
Design and develop user-friendly navigation within the BI sites and between other communication platforms so that users can easier discover the insights they need to self-serve.
Actively contribute to and guide innovation in Data Ops practices and delivery approaches and technologies that assist with developing and delivering dashboards and self-serve tools, including pipeline management of pre-prod to prod to minimise user access to pre-prod environments.
Define, develop and communicate the practices and processes necessary for effective problem management to minimise the impact of service outages.
Develop and maintain a database of known issues, causes and resolutions to guide the development and support teams in minimising the impact of incidents, working with the DevOps team to provide minor change enhancements and fixes for these know dashboard issues.
Manage the response, investigation, resolution and post-incident analysis of major incidents to ensure deficiencies are identified, learnings are documented, and changes implemented to limit risk of future recurrence.

About you:
Demonstrated experience in BI and emerging technologies.
Strong design abilities of dashboard or UX/UI products/services.
Demonstrated experience in creating engaging user experience through visual designs/design frameworks to engage users.
Track record of designing a portal for a hub where people come and engage with products
Experience using design software and analytics tools.
Experience in wire framing and prototyping will be highly regarded.
Experience in setting up Enterprise BI framework or Enterprise dashboards capability will be highly regarded
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 9 ($138,670 - $ 155,309) plus 10% superannuation and annual leave loading.
