Business Development Director - 124407

The Role:

This position is for a Business Development Director in the Semi-Custom Business Unit!

The Business Development Director plays a key role in supporting various business development and product management operations as the Business Unit enters the next phase of growth.

Daily tasks will be: operationalize the business development funnel, handling internal executive reviews for new business opportunities, mapping executives at customers and partners and related touch point strategies for AMD’s team, high impact Program Management of business development activities, and ensuring constant flow of communication between business development leads and customers. Work with the product management team to run active engagements between customers/partners and internal teams, including leading internal/external executive communications and alignment. Address both business and high impact technical issues that arise between AMD and close customers/partners. Assist in internal coordination for broad engagements with partners and customers.

The Person:

Experience in business development or product management, ideally with experience in closure of contractual terms and conditions

Experience supporting executives in a top 25 semi-conductor company

Experience crafting and delivering technical presentations to internal partners as well as customers

Demonstrated successful experience in customer engagements

Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail

Able to work quickly under pressure

Strong project management skills with analytical and intuition for business – reflected in successful project completions

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong grammar, spelling and proofreading

Highly collaborative with ability to work with executives and partners across all functions. Experience effectively working cross-functionally in a heavily matrixed organization

Self-starter/entrepreneurial

Able to adapt to competing demands with the highest level of service and response

15 years of experience in a technical role with 10 years of customer facing experience for a top 25 semi-conductor company

Key Responsibilities:

Operationalize multi-disciplinary business development funnel lifecycle (e.g. business development progress, evangelization and mapping of customer executives and opportunities, estimating engagement potential through market research), ensure processes for projecting revenue and costs are consistent, align legal reviews of vendor and customer contracts with AMD executives

Manage metrics for new business development, and contribute to that effort, while measuring team tracking vs. goals

Partner with business development team to establish and maintain relationships both internally and externally, forming partnerships to support the business.

Prepare updates and organize information for reports, correspondence, presentations, budgets as applicable for SCBU GM reviews.

Assist in the management of large, multi-product engagements with customers and partners.

Coordinate across internal and external teams to enable cross-discipline engagements to bring new products to market.

Work directly with external business and technical teams to map their needs to existing and new AMD products, bringing the appropriate internal technical experts into the discussion as appropriate.

Academic Credentials:

Engineering/CS degree from a top university or college required.

Technical MS/ME and/or MBA preferred but not required

Location:

Santa Clara, CA, Austin, TX, or Boxborough, MA
