Job Description Summary

Business Design Manager (Grade E)

Within Motor Customer Services we have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled individual to lead on Business Design activities, reporting into the Head of Operations Design, Ways of Working and Resilience.

The Motor Customer Services team, based in the Retail division, has a substantial role to play in fulfilling Lex Autolease and Black Horse customer’s mobility needs, with a vision to deliver customer service excellence through a well-controlled, cost leading operation that responds to constantly evolving customer needs.

The role holder will be able to think strategically and ‘join the dots’ across multiple activities to build the bigger picture, for the design blueprint, Operational modelling, and organisational structures. The role will involve providing thought leadership, system thinking, design requirements gathering expertise to create a holistic view of activity across Motor Customer Services driving sustainable change and improvement. There will be a requirement to have a broad understanding of the business to bring insight to inform the Motor Customer Services’ operating model.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the design and implementation of the future Motor Customer Services Operating Model; providing thought leadership and creating business design options that are relevant to the strategic objectives of the business
  • Work with Transformation and the Motor Finance Value Stream to understand the Motor Finance & Leasing portfolio of initiatives and progress against plans to ensure we have the right operating model in place to deliver the change
  • Build relationships across the end-to-end Motor business to ensure a coordinated and joined-up approach to business design
  • Work as part of the wider Operations Design, Ways of Working & Resilience team, championing the customer agenda, focussing ourselves and others on what really matters, and role modelling new ways of working
  • Designing and embedding Future Ways of working, ensuring these evolve to reflect our customers and colleague needs
  • Ongoing design and implementation of the servicing operating model; ensuring it reflects journey digitisation and wider business and industry changes

About you:
 

Essential skills and experience:

  • Competent in System Thinking, Design Blue printing, Op modelling, and thought leadership.
  • Managing and design workshops, facilitation and key partner management
  • Works well with ambiguity; can help to create options and answers where they do not currently exist
  • Effective collaborator and relationship builder; comfortable engaging with partners at all levels, from business SMEs to senior exec
  • Natural curiosity: enjoys exploring new subjects and pushing beyond the original question to unearth key business insights and identify improvements
  • Use data and insight to make decisions and recommendations

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience in Strategy roles or organisation design would be advantageous
  • Business Analysis experience
