Job Description

Our client has over 29 global offices in 17 countries and regions around the world. Their team consists of specialists with advanced knowledge, and they provide services to deal with local accounting and taxation issues in Japanese. They are looking for an experienced Business Consultant in Auckland. This is a permanent full-time role, and you must be proficient in Japanese and English.

Some of the key duties include:

  • Bookkeeping and preparation of financial statement for clients
  • Internal or external New Zealand accounting and taxation training
  • Advice on setting up a business and the structure of the business in New Zealand and Australia
  • Advice on taxation matters and accounting audit in New Zealand, Australia, and overseas transactions
  • Building relationships with clients
  • Being the point of contact between the company and clients
  • Correspondence and any inquiry from existing and potential clients
  • Liaising with clients regarding accounting, taxation and any other duties related to the client's business
  • Administrative work
  • Performing other duties as requested by the management team

About you

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years in accounting and/or taxation experience
  • CA or CPA are preferable but not necessary
  • Experience in popular accounting software such as Xero or MYOB

Specific skills:

  • Languages - must be proficient in Japanese and English
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team player, able to multi-task and willing to take on other tasks and projects as needed.
  • Experience with accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, month end processing, fixed asset accounting, variance analysis and reporting.
  • Tax, IFRS & GAAP preferred.
  • Attention to detail. Team player. Ability to work across multiple cultures.
