Role Purpose
The role is to lead Business Architecture/Design activity on significant programmes or strategic initiatives of high complexity for the payments business area or domain. Find opportunities to drive improvements, set the direction for the business design and define the target operating model. Typically programmes and portfolios will be Platinum/Gold CAT status.
Core accountabilities will include:
- Identifying and evaluating sophisticated expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
- Uncovering emerging issues and/or needs and identifying potential causes, related issues, key partners and barriers.
- Recommending ways to address issues and drive improvements to the business through enhancements to policies, processes, standards and practices.
What are we looking for
We're looking for an individual with strong skills in analysing sophisticated and disparate issues with an ability to manage diverse partner needs. The individual should be familiar with the payments processing landscape and have a curiosity about the strategic direction being set at Industry level. They must be comfortable working on their own initiative and take ownership for producing key results as part of a small team is crucial.
Essential Skills
- The ability to anticipate and balance the requirements of multiple partners. For example, provide mentorship so that others understand the needs of different partners and can balance them appropriately. Make sure people understand and enforce to ethical standards when working with partners; models and ensures cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Make sense of large quantities of complex and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. For example, see the systematic elements of issues, the major connections, linkages, and interdependencies. Ensure the organisation has reliable ways to capture needed information.
- Know the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement. For example, emphasise continuous improvement and quality outcomes across the organisation and with external partners. Facilitate organisation-wide adoption of best practices and lessons learned.
- Work without supervision and provide technical guidance when required on making sure the organisation develops and maintains the culture, values, and design it needs to reach its objectives.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge and interest of the payments landscape. With a desire to help craft the internal ecosystem to adapt to industry changes and customer needs
- Work with guidance to identify, lead, and control project-related changes.
- Experience with Business Architecture and/or Business Design tools
