The role:

This is a new role looking at reporting initiatives, project and business case reporting, and system improvement projects.

Working alongside the CFO you will review and provide strong analysis and budget development for system and process improvement areas. You will also be actively engaged within the business units and financial team to design and implement internal system controls whilst ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial planning and reporting.

What you need to be successful:

• Proficiency in customer communications management and service delivery – be able to convey technical issues and guidance to non-technical staff.
• At least 10 years’ advanced experience of working with financial systems.
• At least 5 years’ experience of working in a similar position in a large organisation.
• Proven executive support roles and experience working with the CEO and senior management
• Proficient administrative skills and the ability to anticipate needs
• A personable style while being efficient, well organised, process-driven and have a commitment to deadlines
• Project a credible and professional image
• Excellent interpersonal skills, confidence in dealing with high level internal and external stakeholders, and ability to collaborate with staff at all levels
• Ability to assess and challenge information

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring IT Services understand Financial Services requirements by working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). • Manage system upgrades and new configurations with the IT department.
• Plan and scope significant systems based long and short term projects, work with IT Services to project manage several implementations and upgrades concurrently.
• Ensure business processes are tested and then appropriately and consistently mapped, using process mining in Oracle (for example) where necessary.
• Establish and maintain up to date system process documentation.
• Work closely with Subject Matter Experts and the Performance Improvement Team to identify and develop business system improvements.
• Maintain an iterative systems review to ensure applications are maintained up to date and retain vendor support. • Work with Financial Services and IT Services to ensure that investment decisions in system development and configurations are strategically and financially sound for the University.
