About the team
The newly formed Strategy, Portfolio, and Investment (SP&I) branch leads Sydney Trains Strategy and Planning, Investment Management, Enterprise Portfolio Management, the Network Growth Portfolio, Reporting and Analytics, and Transformation. The role will analyse, translate, and present complex data into concise reliable management information. Facilitate the design and provision of accurate operational and financial reporting that will drive timely Directorate centric management decision-making. Review and propose the Leaning out of business processes to drive improved reliability of data. You will be working in a large team engaging with multiple stakeholders, where no two days will be the same.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is driven by passion, reports, data, analysis to join Sydney Trains. This is a Permanent Full-time role, within the SP&I team.

Key accountabilities
Design, implement and provide targeted reports and insightful analysis on a regular basis and in a timely manner.
Prepare functional and technical documentation as required which translates business requirements into information system solutions.
Document As Is and To Be Processes clearly articulating the proposed change and business benefits
Consistently deliver efficiency and set a platform for increased commerciality.
Execute safety responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities consistent with Sydney Trains safety management system requirements which are defined in SMS document number SMS-02- RG-3058. 6.
Prioritize & manage own activities, delivering required outputs to required standards whilst meeting tight deadlines.

About you
We are looking for people driven with passion to join us with most amazing times that NSW will witness. You will be working in highly collaborative and influential teams, dealing, and engaging with interesting projects providing optimisation recommendations, identifying new opportunities, and designing modelling algorithms across diverse teams to achieve customer outcomes.
Essential Criteria:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Applied Statistics, or Mathematics.
Advanced working knowledge of analytical programming using Python, R and data science platforms.
Proven experience in a similar role where you have applied advanced analytical and statistical methods and data science methods to business problems.
You have strong communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and strong presentation skills to explain complex analytical concepts.
Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is RC Grade 6 ($127,559 - $141,442) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
