The Pearson Digital Workplace Services [DWS] team is simplifying how Pearson employees work, engage and collaborate using a broad range of technology, initiatives and transformation activities introducing new, globally consistent platforms and services primarily based on Microsoft products: with the adoption of Microsoft tools (Office 365 suite of tools) being a key delivery.

You are an experienced Business Analyst with a special interest and skills with data. You have worked for large global organizations. You have worked for IT organizations who are at the forefront of the digital revolution.
You are passionate about data. You are passionate about analyzing and manipulating it. You are passionate about being able to tell a story using data and business requirements to inform strategy. You are highly organized and like to take responsibly.
You relish the opportunity to deliver real support and change through data. Particularly in the Microsoft arena where there is a heavy focus on adoption and
End User Experience. You enjoy evaluating information from multiple sources, understanding and translating that into actionable insights. You will proably have a background in Business Analysis which will assist with telling a rich story. As a key member of a team, you bring your proven history of managing strong relationships and understanding business requirements.
You take responsibility for owning, capturing and documenting the data and business requirements and delivering useable data to the rest of team and wider business. Much of the data will be public facing, you enjoy presenting it in a user-friendly format. Working closing with the technical teams to ensure the data is understood. Tracking any actions against the data to determine the next steps.
Role purpose:
This Business Analyst role (with a keen interest in data) is supporting the Pearson DWS vision to be become a truly digital workplace by leveraging the UCC suite of tools (primarily Office 365) and driving return on our investment by utilizing the vast capability of Office 365.
To realize these goals and objectives the position must balance the ability to elicit, analyze, shape, specify, validate and verify.

Key responsibilities:
As a direct report to the Director of UCC within the Digital Workplace Services group, the candidate will be responsible for:
Elicitation – Uncover the underlying business issues that need to be addressed and discover any information related to projects
Analyse Requirements – Organizing, specifying and modelling requirements to ensure they are complete and unambiguous.
Specifying Requirements – Ensuring that the documentation of the requirements is in a layout and format that can be easily shared with and understood by stakeholders.
Validating and Verifying Requirements – Making sure that the requirements map to the business need being addressed and they are approved by all the appropriate stakeholders
Report results in a manner which is both statistically rigorous and compellingly relevant
Support strategy and approach on design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
Drive operational excellence for data ingestion, transformation and publication to ensure confidence in the systems we support
Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
Triage many possible courses of action in a high-ambiguity environment, making use of both quantitative analysis and business judgment
Supporting a view to automate the (routine) data reporting – to enable you to play a larger part in the organization and support the wider business analysis strategy.
Learns from previous experience and understands how benefits have been delivered by participating in post-implementation reviews, lessons learned sessions and knowledge share/peer reviews.
Deliverables and outcomes
Support Optimization Programme by creating the necessary data to support strategic decision making
Create, in partnership with the UCC team, the operating framework for the utilization of the existing and new data in Office 365 and support this going forward including defining KPIs and key operating procedures.
Workplace Experience will be a priority. Constant focus and awareness of user experience and requirements will be key to ensuring our internal customers love Office 365
Qualifications
Experience and culture:
Data Analyst or BA experience in Microsoft or Office 365
Enterprise global estates of 15,000 seats and above
Enthusiasm for the cloud, data analytics and data visualization
Understanding of cloud best practices, reporting methodologies and analytics strategies
Experienced in working with large geographically dispersed teams
Skills and qualifications:
Background/degree in a relevant field eg economics/information/mathematics/statistics
Excellent PowerBI and Microsoft Excel skills
Data visualization
Critical thinking
Relevant Microsoft skills: Office 365 esp backend data, SharePoint, Teams
Experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Strong stakeholder analysis, management and communication skills
Experience of Tableau desirable but not essential
Interpersonal and consultative skills
