BMW UK, Financial Services, Farnborough - Supplier Management - 13 Month Placement (July 2022)

As the Supplier Management Intern, you’ll have a great opportunity to get an overview of all areas of BMW Financial Services. You’ll interact with different departments within BMW Financial Services and also the wider BMW Group where you will be involved with the negotiation and organisation of arrangements for the provision of services from external vendors. You'll liaise with many external organisations we have existing supplier relationships with or are looking to use for future services.
 

What will you be doing?

  • The coordination of the Vendor Management team through supporting and essentially working for three Vendor Relationship and Risk Managers in over 15 business areas of which have numerous tender and outsourcing activities.
  • You will be accountable for the management and maintenance of our SharePoint site which details all vendors, issues, new business requests and tender activities amongst the team.
  • Involvement with the risk management of our vendors, KPI monitoring, policy management and also maintenance of the company organisation charts.
  • The role is extremely varied and allows you to gain in depth knowledge of a corporate business from all aspects whilst giving many opportunities for learning and development.

Qualifications

  • Studying towards a business-related Bachelor's degree and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - having contact with numerous stakeholders and business areas means being able to communicate effectively and confidently.
  • Initiative - being able to develop new initiatives within the team and also get on with work or tasks without being asked to do so.
  • Priority management - being able to decipher what tasks are most important and prioritising workload.
  • Team work - being able to work in a small team and manage the workload delegated by three managers.
  • Versatility - due to the variation in work and numerous tasks to be completed, be able to adapt to the different tasks is key.
  • Planning and organising - being organised for meetings and deadlines as well as time management.
