Ensure Issuer Services as part of Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory (BCMA) deliver Business Transformation initiatives in compliance with Citigroup’s Data Management Policy and Standards. This includes both Agency and Trust and Depositary Receipts businesses. This is a high visibility and impactful role that provides leadership in support of Citigroup’s data quality program.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Front Office Regional Business Heads, agree the Business Transformation initiatives to be delivered throughout 2022-24
- Effectively manage the regulatory & strategic change management process to Improve time to market, drive efficiencies across the Global business operating model
- Accountable for the execution of the business transformation book of work, data management controls and supporting artifacts for the Issuer Services Risk Framework to ensure internal controls are designed effectively and testable to mitigate risk in data driven processes
- Serves as a strategic partner with other businesses and strives to facilitate their success.Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function
- Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas
- Partner with Chief Data Office (CDO) and the Global Data Governance Officer (DGO) to ensure Issuer Services is compliant with the Data Management Policy by developing business-specific procedures where internal business processes are required to support the execution of the enterprise process
- Define the key business processes for the business and identify the Critical Data Elements that require monitoring for data quality issues
- Oversee establishment of detailed procedures to enable governance of data management processes
- Responsible for quality assurance of the execution of change activities including documentation of process flows, implementation of Data Quality rules, and documentation of system lineage
- Provide senior leadership within BCMA/Issuer Services with transparent and regular updates related to the quality of data available, in-use, and being provisioned for use
- Increase business awareness, confidence and trust in data assets and enterprise data governance program by providing support and guidance to Issuer Services
- Ability to influence and negotiate to facilitate change, as well as employ matrix management skills in order to ensure solutions meet business requirements and influence others without direct authority
- Develop and implement plans for Critical Data Elements to comply with data quality requirements defined by Issuer Services’ business process owners, including the assessment and implementation of front-end data entry controls
- Collaborate with BCMA/Issuer Services Business Process Owners and Data Stewards to ensure that (1) data quality measurement and ongoing monitoring are implemented by BCMA for Critical Data Elements and information assets and (2) the Issue Management process is utilized for remediation of data quality issues
- Participate in the nomination and registration of approved and strategic data repositories as golden sources of BCMA/ Issuer Services data as part of Citi’s enterprise information architecture
- Partner with the BCMA Business Process Owners and Technology Managers to include enterprise data standards within business development requirements for all new applications, as well as adoption within existing applications
- Accountable for effective internal data management controls by monitoring business data quality reports with associated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) & metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the business
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in a project or program management role in the successful implementation of projects (preferably large scale implementations), operational process change and improvement, preferably within capital markets and/or investment banking and regulatory change initiatives
- Excellent communication skills required in order to guide, negotiate and influence, often at a senior level and to articulate complex recommendations
- Closely follows trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business
- Industry experience in data governance, data management and regulatory initiatives
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
- Requires strong analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources
- Strong teamwork skills with ability to work and partner globally across different geographic locations
- Strong experience in capital markets and control areas (e.g. Finance, Risk)
- Ability to implement and manage a successful risk/control environment
- Experienced in consulting with project stakeholders and subject matter experts (SME), including the skills to facilitate compromises, resolve conflicting requirements, and manage competing priorities
- Experienced in working across technology and business projects and managing inter-dependencies between them
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions, and be assertive while promoting a collaborative and partnering environment
- Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts / requirements and related product / functional knowledge
- Data-oriented with excellent attention to detail and strong data analysis skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to give focused attention to details and deliver high quality work while managing competing priorities
Preferred Skills
Citigroup experience is a plus, with preference in Agency and Trust and Depositary Receipts
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar discipline
