What you will do

The Instrument Systems Bay is responsible for ensuring this equipment, and associated components, are maintained and repaired to a high standard.

In this role you will be responsible for the effective repair of aircraft instrument, oxygen and flight systems equipment within Avionics Squadron Auckland from a technical perspective. The role ensures the retention of core corporate and specialist knowledge, skills, and expertise are maintained.

What we need

We are seeking an individual who has experience in avionics component repair, or in a similar field;

having the conceptual ability to solve technical problems and the skills to repair and maintain avionics systems to component level. You will also have experience in supervising and guiding more junior technicians assisting to develop their skills and capabilities whilst ensuring all technical policies, practices and procedures are adhered to.

Key skills needed:

  • Excellent skills in fault finding electronic/electrical equipment to component level;
  • Understanding of avionics trade practices and airworthiness, desirable;
  • HRHS desirable;
  • Knowledge of aeronautical and non-aeronautical Instrument systems desirable;
  • Understanding of Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP Plant Maintenance) desirable;
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Avionics Squadron is responsible for providing technical advice, maintenance and engineering support of Avionics equipment and systems to meet the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) Maintenance Wing's requirements in support of New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) Air operations.

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
