The Test Automation Manager role is within the Staff Processing Systems (SPS) Division. SPS consists of more than 1,000 staff across four branches located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne.
Our core function is to design, build, test and maintain the systems that enable staff to process information to support customers that interact with our agency.
This includes the tools and systems used by government staff to manage and service customers, the automation technology that allows straight-through processing of customer claims, and the technology that moves work from one part of the system to another.
Job description:
The engagement objective of the role is to improve the quality and capability of the Divisions technology platforms through: * Implementation of a continuous Test Automation capability across all of SPS.
Increasing the level of automation within the division to assist in the division's journey to a DevOps Model.
Key Duties :
1. Assessment (As-Is) of current test automation capability across SPS including:
a. Current Test applications assessment
b. Current key roles and capabilities
2. Define future capability and transition roadmap (To-Be) including:
a. Key roles, tasks and skills – with a focus on skills uplift opportunity for Testing resources to enable the move from a testing role to a Quality Assurance role plus the change for developers with the moving of ‘testing to the left’ (DevOps).
b. Test Automation Framework
c. Test Automation Transition roadmap
d. Test Automation Suite application recommendations.
3. Implementation planning of 'To-Be' including:
a. Business Case
b. High level schedule
c. Resource and financial estimates
Estimated Start Date: 01st April 2022
Term: Initial Term to 30th September 2022
Extension Options: Possibility of 2 x 1 year extensions, based on performance & business requirements
Work Location: ACT, NSW, VIC, QLD and SA.
Security Clearance: Confirmation Australian Citizenship at a minimum
Requirements
Mandatory Criteria
10+ years demonstrated knowledge and experience of a variety of testing methodologies and strategies
3+ years within the last 5 years of demonstrated knowledge and experience in Test Automation
Weighted Criteria
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of conducting Test Automation maturity assessments and writing and implementing test automation frameworks
Demonstrated knowledge and work experience with SAP applications (eg CRM)
Demonstrated knowledge and work experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Demonstrated communication skills of a high standard, both written and verbal
ISTQB Test Manager or Test Automation Engineer certification
