Automation Engineer - 114181

THE ROLE
 

AMD is seeking a Infrastructure Automation Engineer with technical experience in the fields of automation, system administration, networking, virtualization and/or containerization technologies (e.g., vCenter, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, etc.), Cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), and programming (e.g., Python, C/C++, Java).

The person

You will assist in the administration of systems, overseeing large scale IT infrastructure automation projects using modern Infrastructure Automation platforms. In collaboration with AMD Engineers and Architects, you will enable automation and orchestration, governance and self-service functionality for IT environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer Quali solutions for Environment-as-a-Service (EaaS) automation.
  • System Administration of Quali Cloud Shell platform.
  • Work with AMD team to understand automation requirements and establish automation best practices and solution design.
  • Identify technical issues encountered while using Quali solutions.
  • Perform upgrades, backups, and troubleshoot orchestration platforms.
  • Maintain and grow personal knowledge in the fields of automation, networking, cloud, virtualization, containerization, software development, and other related technologies to keep pace in a quickly advancing and exciting field

Preferred experience

  • Experience in any or a combination of IT Automation, Cloud, Virtualization, Containerization, and/or Networking roles.
  • Strong programming knowledge in Phyton and/or Java and/or C/C++.
  • Systems Administration in Linux and Windows environments, Network, automation, and troubleshooting practices.
  • Self-learner, go getter, team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Advantage: Previous experience with Quali’s products (e.g., Cloud Shell).

Academic credentials

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent.
