About this role

The role holder is responsible for designing and delivering authentication services to all of BT and our partners, including how individuals access BT’s systems and manage their password and devices. Microsoft technologies, including 365 and Azure, play a key part in BT’s digital strategy; this job is fundamental to how Colleague Services is delivering brilliant solutions to the way BT’s people communicate and collaborate around the world. The role holder will also be responsible for maximising the return on BT’s investment in Microsoft 365 products, working with our wider security-focused colleagues to protect and defend BT people and their devices from digital threats.

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Design and thought leadership for the ongoing simplification and modernisation of BT’s internal authentication solutions

• The design and deployment of brilliant technical solutions to enable BT to easily and securely authenticate to internal applications and internet-based services

• Be an expert in Microsoft authentication solutions and provide guidance around best practice to shape BT’s standards

• Accountable for delivering and shaping our Threat Protection strategy around BT’s investment in Microsoft technologies

• Help shape our security capabilities to meet the wider Colleague Services goals

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Strong Microsoft knowledge: a deeply technical understanding of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 & Azure

• Be a colleague experience visionary: An ability to convert people’s requirements to technical solutions, while delivering inobtrusive world leading digital protection for our colleagues

• Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)

Experience you would be expected to have

• Microsoft Active Directory design & support

• Designing & deploying Microsoft 365 Authentication Services

• Implementing & managing Microsoft Information Protection solutions

• Understanding of network and datacentre infrastructure and connectivity requirements

Preferred:

• Microsoft 365/Azure including Defender for Identity, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office & Sentinel

• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Governance and Compliance features

• Knowledge of Active Directory Federation Services, Pass Through Authentication and Azure AD Connect

• Team leadership and experience of coaching/managing direct reports
