Job Purpose:
The Assistant Vice President – Counterparty Credit Risk and CVA - EMEA Regulatory Policy & Advisory will be responsible for supporting Citi meet five key aspects of Prudential Capital Regulatory Policy, with particular emphasis on the CRR/CRD and PRA associated regulations covering Counterparty Credit Risk and CVA:
1. Projects – supporting the projects team to help deliver compliance with prudential capital and leverage requirements
2. Interpretation of regulations and developing associated policy
3. Regulatory developments – capturing and disseminating rule changes and technical updates
4. Consideration of the future regulatory landscape as well as supporting internal and external impact assessments
5. Reviewing and assessing the capital and leverage impact of new transactions
Job Background/context:
EMEA Controllers, within the Citi Finance organisation, is accountable for both US and local Financial and Regulatory Reporting, for all countries within EMEA. The Assistant Vice President – Counterparty Credit Risk and CVA - EMEA Regulatory Policy and Advisory is a key appointment within EMEA Controllers, to focus on key topics in Counterparty Credit Risk and CVA within the prudential capital and leverage regulations and ensure that these are understood, interpreted, documented and communicated to stakeholders across Citi.
Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant Vice President - EMEA Regulatory Policy and Advisory will be a key part of the team responsible for Counterparty Credit Risk and CVA in relation to the following:
Supporting the Business Analysts in developing business requirements documentation to implement relevant new regulations (e.g. CRR2, CRR3) as they come into force;
Capturing relevant updates from Regulators, including Global, European and UK specific rules ( RTS/ITS, Q&As, Guidelines) that may impact the prudential regulation of legal entities within EMEA;
Analysing and interpreting new relevant regulatory rules: communicating these to the relevant internal stakeholders in the firm and working with other stakeholders to determine the impact of new rules on legal entities’ capital, business, regulatory systems and business model as appropriate;
Participating in Governance meetings of Citi EMEA subsidiary entities to present and explain significant regulatory developments;
Contributing to the review and approval of regulatory interpretations by the CRR Interpretative Office and Capital and Leverage Interpretative Working Group;
Developing and delivering training presentations to facilitate firm-wide education of new or proposed regulation;
Providing technical regulatory advice to various Front Office businesses;
Representing EMEA Regulatory Policy and Advisory as a member of EMEA ICG’s New Product Approval Committee in reviewing new products and structured transactions and ensuring that franchise risks are addressed;
Supporting the Quality Assurance team in development of work programmes, ongoing technical advice and technical reviews of final reports;
Working closely with other teams across Citi to foster knowledge-sharing and best practices.
Qualification/Experience:
Third level qualification in business, accountancy, economics, legal or similar discipline
A finance professional with a number of years’ experience in related fields, preferably in a regulatory reporting or policy role
Strong knowledge of prudential capital and leverage rules and relevant regulatory disclosures.
Key Competencies:
Detailed knowledge of EU CRR/CRD and relevant PRA prudential regulations covering Counterparty Credit Risk and CVA
Knowledge of legal entity accounting and reporting preferred but not essential
Self-motivated and ability to work independently
Good team player

Professional communication/interpersonal skills at all levels and across different functions.
