Job Introduction

As an Assistant Tax Accountant working within the BBC’s Group Tax Team, you will support the Tax Finance Business Partners (FBPs) to manage the BBC Group’s Corporate, Indirect and Employment tax affairs globally. 

The day to day tax work will range across all activities of the BBC including: television, radio, online, World Service, commercial subsidiaries, finance, professional services and our various business partners and BBC charities.

Role Responsibility

• Supporting the BBC Tax FBPs to act as information and advice help desk for indirect, direct and employment tax issues within the BBC Group e.g. advising on the tax implications of major international sporting events and other instances where the BBC is filming abroad. 
• Supporting with the management of tax risks globally by liaising with other BBC offices across the World
• Assisting the BBC Tax FBPs with the review of tax compliance and reporting deliverables with a focus on continual process improvement and looking for innovative ways of improving the compliance process
• Supporting the BBC Tax FBPs with tax advice and managing external tax advisers
• Support BBC Tax FBPs to deliver tax and finance related systems training across the Group which means working closely with production accountants and in-house BBC teams to better understand the BBC and how all of our favourite BBC shows are made, sold and distributed
• Develop an understanding of the relevant SAP processes, finance systems and accounting entries
• Contribute to ensuring fresh ideas and best practices are being brought into BBC Finance

The Ideal Candidate

Minimum Qualifications: You should have already completed the ATT qualification or had a degree of working knowledge and professional experience having worked in a junior tax or accounting role, and a minimum of 3 A-Level qualifications, and a minimum 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade 4 or above*

*(previously grades A* to C).
