The Assistant Portfolio Manager, Corporate Credit will report to the Senior Portfolio Manager, Corporate Credit and will contribute to the implementation of the investment strategy by analyzing and monitoring internally managed portfolios and strategies as well as formulating investment recommendations for corporate credit investments.
- Follow global credit markets, focusing on North American investment grade and high yield corporate credit, including cash bonds and derivatives
- Formulate and present investment recommendations
- Collaborate on portfolio monitoring, construction and reporting
- Follow trades and develop tools to aid in credit management
- Conduct fundamental analysis within the credit risk framework to support strategic and trade decisions
- Execute trades on credit instruments within fixed income and credit derivatives
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to identify investment opportunities, develop market insights and continue to innovate our investment approach
- Track the performance, risks and exposures of portfolios and individual strategies across corporate credit investments
Qualifications
- University diploma in finance, mathematics, accounting or economics
- CFA or other professional designation is highly desirable
- Master’s degree is an asset
- Extensive credit research experience is required, possessing practical experience with credit market strategies involving cash instruments, credit derivatives, TRS structures and/or structured credit
- Capital markets experience is required. Trading experience is an asset
- Sustainable investing experience is an asset
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent knowledge of all Microsoft Office products and Bloomberg
- Ability to communicate fluently in French and English (both written and spoken)
- At ease with sophisticated front-office tools and familiarity with North American fixed income markets and diverse credit instruments
- Strong computing skills in Excel and Python are an asset
