A great opportunity for an Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step in their career.

The financial accountant will support the financial controller and wider finance team as well as management and staff of the organisation and its subsidiaries. The position will work closely with the financial controller and senior financial accountant through preparation of reconciliations, fixed asset management and preparing annual financial statements, as well as ad-hoc financial accounting and analysis..

This role will suit a recently qualified chartered accountant or an assistant that is wanting to progress their career, ideally they will have good exposure to BAS, GST and FBT tax. They are looking for someone to take that next step in their career and grow in a supportive and constructive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare month and year end statements in time meeting deadlines.
• Prepare GST, FBT and income tax returns ensuring all returns are filed and payments made on time.
• Update and maintain the Fixed Asset register
• Review elimination journals and provide advice to the wider Finance group as required.

Key Requirements:

• Background in BAS and financial accounting
• Working through CA/ CPA Qualifications
• Strong understanding of NZ Accounting standards and taxation compliance
