A global News / Media Platform in East London are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to support their Finance Manager and Head of Finance and aid their year-on-year growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to grow, develop and really learn from the Senior Finance Team. You will have the opportunity to get involved with month-end finances and budgeting etc. You will be joining an outgoing & supportive senior team who are truly passionate about the business direction and what they do!

This is a flexible role – you can work flexible hours & fully or partly remote / from home with occasional office visits.

You will be offered an annual salary of circa £35,000 and initially on a contract basis with the view to go permanent.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing the accounts payable invoice process
• Processing bank and credit card reconciliations processes
• Assisting with budgets and tracking expenses
• Assisting with preparation of month end reporting and providing analysis on reports
• Working closely with internal stakeholders across multiple teams
• Raising accounts receivable invoices for review
• Review, investigate and analyse discrepancies
• Maintaining confidentiality of all financial data
• Act as first point of contact for all payment queries

Key requirements:

• At least 2 years’ experience working within Finance
• You will ideally be AAT qualified or studying towards AAT or a relevant Finance qualifications
• Must be able to ask for help and take accountability for transactional finance
• An interest in world politics or global news would be ideal
• Experience with Excel including V-lookups & Pivot tables
