Assistant Accountant – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract – Covering Maternity 

Oaks Hospital are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their friendly and hardworking Accounts team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Oaks Hospital is part of Ramsay Health Care UK, one of the leading providers of NHS and private patient services in England. Oaks Hospital is a 58 bed facility including 18 ambulatory bays, 4 laminar flow Theatres and an Endoscopy Theatre. 

The Role
The successful Assistant Accountant will be responsible for providing support to Finance Manager with the production of accurate statistical and financial information for the whole hospital. 

You will be expected to:
•    Process month end journals such as accruals and prepayments
•    Provide support and detailed information to each of the departments within the hospital, all managers and staff as required
•    Offer hands on support to the billing team when required  and play a key role in monitoring and improving revenue capture processes 
•    Support the Finance Manager with NHS contract reporting, billing and reconciliations
•    Monitor aged debt reports and provide credit control support
•    Liaise with Central Finance Function on matters such as fixed asset registers, purchase ledger and payroll 

What you will bring: 
•    A good understanding of accounting processes and procedures
•    Working towards the AAT or ACCA qualification/ equivalent 
•    Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
•    Intermediate Excels skills to include pivot tables, basic formulas and V-Lookups
