Job Description:

QIC currently has an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to support our Corporate Accounting team based in Brisbane on an open term, full-time basis. This opportunity would suit an individual who is nearing the completion or has recently completed their undergraduate studies in Accounting, Business or Commerce with an eagerness to work within the investment management industry.

Supporting the Corporate Accounting team through delivering accurate financial reporting, you will be responsible for assisting key areas including the Maintenance of Accounting Records, End of Month Procedures, Financial Reporting, Taxation and Statutory Requirements, Compliance, and general support to the wider Corporate Accounting team.

Role accountabilities also include (but are not limited to):

• Assistance with revenue calculations, accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Maintain the fixed asset register by ensuring timely, accurate and complete capitalisation of large volumes of capital purchases.
• Reconciling the fixed assets register to the General Ledger.
• Preparation of workpapers and reconciliation for external audit.
• Identifying areas for innovation and improving the efficiency of existing procedures and systems.
• Assistance with collation of data, preparation and calculation (in conjunction with internal tax) of relevant taxes (FBT, payroll tax, income tax, GST).

Key requirements and experience:

• Studying towards or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce.
• Previous experience in financial services preferred but not necessary.
• Previous experience in financial modelling/analysis but not necessary.
• Continuous learning, skills enhancement and maintaining best practice technical knowledge.
• Initiative, engagement, drive and motivation.
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud would be highly advantageous but not critical.
