We are looking for a Senior Applied Data Scientist to formulate and implement new ideas to mine and learn actionable insights from large scale data and signals we collect from API calls in our platform. This interdisciplinary field involves data mining, statistics, operations research, and understanding of customer journey.

As a Senior Applied Data Scientist, you will play a key role in driving algorithmic and modeling improvement to our platform, make direct impact to both third-party developers and first-party products, and develop strategies to increase the revenue for Microsoft 365.

Raise the skill level of the entire analytics team through the creation of outstanding work, mentorship, and the introduction of better practices, processes, and tools

Conduct exploratory analysis to understand developer behaviors and long-term trends

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing applications in the cloud using technologies such as SQL, Kusto, Databricks, Azure ML, Spark etc.
• Proficiency in Python
• Familiarity with a version control system
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Communication and collaboration skills
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with real-world noisy data
• PhD/MS in CS/EE/Applied Mathematics/Statistics/DS/ML or related fields with knowledge in machine learning, forecasting, and combinatorial optimization

•Experience with product analytics, customer journey analytics and/or growth accounting is a plus
