Our Midlands based client are looking for an Application Support Engineer to support 2 key areas of the business. You will be the support bridge between the business and the development teams as they rapidly transition their computing platform to the latest cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities 

Provide 2nd line support for the company’s suite of applications

Liaise with frontline support as the bridge between the business and the development team for more complex issues

Collaborate effectively with colleagues to become proficient with our applications and the business

Identify issues requiring escalation using analytic skills (SQL) and possibly analysis of source code

Communicate effectively with stakeholders

Work within a fast paced agile environment

Practical understanding of development processes, including change and release management

Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technical skills

Display strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications and Skills

Ability to quickly triage and prioritise issues in a complex high data volume environment and work with the development teams to build a suite of analytic and healing tools to help resolve and prevent these issues in the future.

Experience With any of the following is desirable:

Working knowledge of supporting MS technologies

Microsoft SQL Server/TSQL

Basic understanding of computer code and HTML

Azure Devops/Jira for issue management

Working with APIs

Working with Large datasets
