Would you like to be part of a pool of Freelance Administrators to work with our teams supporting the running of the BBC Proms from May - October 2022.
Appointment to the Freelance Pool will not entitle candidates to a permanent contract in the BBC, those will have to be applied for in the normal way, and neither does it guarantee work. However, it may lead to consideration for broader freelance opportunities across BBC Proms.
This opportunity requires previous administration experience in a busy office environment.
We will help provide some additional skills for you to enable you to work effectively in our teams and to widen your knowledge of our systems. This could include production specific programmes, eg Artifax and Visio.
We want BBC Proms’ output to reflect and understand the audiences we serve - for example, the different geographical regions of the UK and the experience of people from underrepresented groups (eg people from Black, Asian or minority ethnic backgrounds, people with lived experience of disability, individuals within the LGBTQ+ community and those from lower socio-economic groups). We are therefore actively seeking individuals with skills or experience that can help contribute towards ensuring we maximise the diversity of our coverage and content.
All opportunities offered, as a result of appointment to this talent pool, will be on a Freelance PAYE basis. Rates of pay will be discussed separately.
You could be based at Old Broadcasting House (OBH), The Royal Albert Hall (RAH), at Home or other non-BBC venues. Some home-working may be considered. While most of our activity takes place in London there will be some opportunity to support activity outside London.
Office and Event days will be staffed according to the various roles.
If you already have a current staff contract with the BBC (continuing or fixed-term), you won’t be eligible to apply.
Any work offered with the BBC will be conditional upon you having the right to work in the UK.
