About this role

This is an essential role in the drive to deliver network nationwide. Accountable for the delivery of lead assessor accreditations to our direct labour workforce and also communication providers on the PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) modules. The role is accountable for the delivery of technical workshops and Civils equipment demonstrations. Also responsible for owning and maintaining all civils accreditation modules, ensuring they are current, relevant and accurate. The role is accountable for leading, setting direction, motivating, empowering and inspiring a team of technical capability engineers. Success will be measured and achieved through collaborative working nationwide with all field engineering teams, external companies such as Smart Awards and also Communications providers.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Develop, deliver and own Openreach Civils accreditation strategy and plan, working with direct labour teams, external companies and suppliers where required.

Develop, document and update civils accreditation modules that are relevant and fit for purpose.

Manage and deliver Chief Engineer showcase events, providing new product awareness.

Monitor and analyse Direct Labour and supplier quality performance, managing remedial activity where required.

Accredit lead assessors for direct labour, partners and communication providers using regulated products, e.g. PIA.

Manage a team of technical capability engineers.

Deliver Openreach accreditation plan in the most cost effective manner.

Reduce costs of poor quality in network via aforementioned actions.

Promote the benefits of accreditation and quality delivery of all aspects of the access network.

Work with Smart Awards or any other external companies that are involved in the accreditation process.

You'll have the following skills & experience

Knowledge of Civil engineering including methods, standards and components used within Openreach.

Knowledge of the accreditation and quality process within Openreach.

Good knowledge of the supplier partner organisations and relationships with Openreach.

Experience in writing technical documentation.

Proven organisational skills with the ability to flex team resource for the needs of the customers, stakeholders and the business.
