"You’ll be at the heart of our new UK&I Controllership team, playing a critical role in helping the team to be a key partner at the heart of Sky’s operations. You’ll play a key role assisting the Financial Controller and Financial Analyst in our management and statutory reporting, ensuring Sky has a reporting framework which is best in class. You’ll help to ensure that reporting is underpinned by a robust and well-developed control framework, working with our business to ensure that financial reporting is at the heart of decision making. What you’ll do:

• Assist in our monthly financial reporting review, including consolidated reporting and analysis of our Balance Sheet, including movement and reconciliation.
• Assist in research and analysis of reporting impacts of new regulatory reporting/regulatory standards, being proactive in identifying potential impacts in advance of publication.
• Assist with our control assurance procedures, including working with the business to improve, review and analyse control performance.
• Assist in Sky’s statutory financial reporting process helping to ensure all financial statements are completed in a timely manner.
• Assist the Financial Analyst in the management of our annual reporting process, working with several partners to ensure a smooth and well controlled annual reporting process.
• Helping to co-ordinate the preparation/consolidation of business review materials, highlighting key areas of potential focus for the UK&I Controllership team.
• Get involved in ad-hoc projects in Sky which impact reporting/control, providing analysis and assistance to achieve the project aims and objectives

What you’ll bring:

• Accounting/audit experience with sound knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP reporting, ideally within a large organisation or professional services organisation.
• A proactive attitude to risk identification, management and mitigation and a willingness to work with the business to improve control.
• Great analytical skills with a high attention of detail, particularly in your approach to review of financial statements and/or associated management information
• Be sufficiently motivated and ambitious to work on their own initiative without always requiring direction
