Robert Half is working with a recognized Tax Firm in the North York area who is looking to hire an Accounting Technician to their team. As the Accounting Technician, you will mainly be responsible for internal accounting of the organization and support with some external accounting functions. • Process accounts payable; monitor AP inbox, obtain approvals, data entry of invoices
• Prepare cheque runs on a bi-weekly basis
• Generate invoices and post payments in SAGE 50 and time and billing system
• Send out reminders and follow up with customers on past due payments
• Monthly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations
• Prepare and post Month End journal entries
• Prepare individual, corporate and trust tax returns
• Liaise with CRA
• Prepare tax election and foreign reporting forms

Requirements

• DIploma or Degree in accounting, finance or business related
• Minimum 3-5 years' general accounting experience
• Experience preparing tax returns highly desired
• Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage 50 or QuickBooks preferred
• Prior knowledge of Taxprep is an asset
• Intercompany experience highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite; intermediate excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
