Robert Half is looking for a candidate to support a department as an Accounting Clerk. The primary responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk will include but not be limited to assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and general forms of data entry. This is a long-term contract / temporary employment based in the Mississauga, Ontario area.

Your responsibilities in this role would be as follows:

  • Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
  • Patch up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
  • Arrange documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
  • Help Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
  • Circulate financial information to journals and ledgers
  • Assist Accounts Receivable: help with collection of past due balance, process daily invoices/credit, and apply cash receipt
  • Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of an array of sources
  • Support administrative tasks such as aiding the employees with day to day tasks

Requirements

- Candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized

- Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

- Excellent data entry skills

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred

- Experience with journal entries

- Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel

- Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations

- Proven knowledge of general ledger

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
