Do you create spreadsheets in your sleep? Are you an Accountant looking to find your place in the accounting field? Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Accountant with a highly successful organization. Reviewing financial statements with a heavy data entry component is the main focus of this position. If you're an Excel enthusiast, you might be a good fit for this entry-level position. We're looking for people who are interested in spreadsheet creation and manipulation. For this short-term contract / temporary position, you should be willing to work in Toronto, Ontario.

Key responsibilities

- Data entry

- Ensuring that accounts contained in the general ledger are correct

- Carrying out alternate duties and taking part in special projects as assigned

- Aiding in full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes

- Investigating and fixing account discrepancies

- Assisting with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audit

- Make monthly journal entries

Requirements

- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred

- Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills

- Accurate, swift, data entry abilities

- Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects

- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience necessary

- QuickBooks experience desired

- Applicants with an AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business are recommended for this position
