Robert half is looking for an accountant for a contract role within the GTA. The person would be responsible for following duties:

General Ledger accounting: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and daily reconciliations of cheques. Prepare monthly journal entries for one or more companies. Prepare and/or review general ledger accounts and reconciliations. Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts ie: prepaids, fixed asset ledgers, utility expense and liability accrual schedules. Maintain excel-based schedules annually supporting payroll GL accounts. Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts. Prepare excel-based schedules for annual audit files for external auditors. Processes online payments: on-line bill payments, ACH/EFTs and wire-transfers Budgets: Prepare and maintain excel-based schedules/reports for finance budgets. Taxation: Preparation of schedules supporting sales/use tax returns. Preparation of tax information schedules for completing corporate income tax returns. Other: Special projects as the need arises, for example: Assist in preparing report formats for the design and implementation of the new ERP application. Perform excel-based data validation for new IT initiatives.

3-5 years of experience working in an accounting role.

College/university graduate in accounting, Bachelor’s Degree (preferred);

Must possess good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

Working knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP

Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Excel features such as vlookup, macros and pivot tables.

Experience in the manufacturing industry – an asset.
