About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join the External Reporting team on a permanent basis. Working as part of a close-knit team responsible for managing the Group consolidation, you will play an active role in driving continuous improvement of end-to-end processes, and ensure key transactions are correctly captured whilst maintaining integrity and confidence in the numbers. The role offers exposure to a breadth of accounting transactions and issues, and the opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams across the business.  

Key responsibilities will include

• Month-end consolidation of the Group result
• Ongoing updates to the BPC account hierarchy mapping and ownership structures
• Support the Group's half-year and full-year end process, including the preparation of financial statement analysis
• Accounting for equity and other key transactions
• Key contributor in driving continuous improvement in the external reporting end to end processes, and implementation of new accounting standards
• Management of key stakeholders within Finance Shared Services, Corporate Finance, Planning, Treasury and Business Unit finance teams
• Preparation of reconciliations and other governance processes

About you

• Finance related degree with a CA or CPA qualification (or working towards)

• 4+ years relevant experience, exposure in retail/large corporate will be advantageous

• Strong experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros), Google Suite, SAP, BPC 

• Able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience; able to make the complex simple

• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills 

• Ability to synthesise large amounts of data from a variety of sources

• Strong presentation and storyboarding skills
