On behalf of our client, a global manufacturer, we are currently recruiting a Senior Accountant to work within their facility on the beautiful Vancouver Island. Deploying your experience in business/financial analysis and overall understanding of enterprise operation, will be the one of perks of this Senior Accountant position. You will take on a central role in full-cycle accounting & assisting with internal and external reporting around key performance indicators. This critical Senior Accountant role will be working closely with an accounting team and reporting to the Controller, responsibilities include:

- Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

- An endless desire to improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with IFRS

- Compose Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Assisting with monthly and quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- Put together monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you are a designated or closed to designation accountant (CPA or equivalent), with at least 5+ years of overall progressive accounting experience and at least 2+ years at the full-cycle accounting level. You have experience with internal reporting, month-end / year-end responsibilities. You are comfortable working independently and can provide mentorship, guidance to junior staff as needed.

- At least 5 years related experience that includes working with multiple stakeholders

- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar; CPA/MBA preferred

- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

- Experience with cost of product development

- Management reporting experience desired

- Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations experience required

- Proven knowledge of SAP or similar ERP experience

- Advance knowledge and experience working in Microsoft EXCEL
