Job Description

Are you an experienced account or relationship manager in the financial services sector?  Keen to join a business that’s dynamic, supportive, and growing, where you can truly make a difference?

  • Award winning specialist health insurer
  • Great culture and flexibility
  • Grow and develop with us

Why you’ll love Accuro;

Accuro is a 100% New Zealand owned and managed not-for-profit health insurer, with a team that is passionately dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for its 33,000 plus members.  Accuro is a highly regarded brand that has been winning awards since 2008 and that’s why we consider ourselves New Zealand’s best little health insurer.

Our smaller size makes us agile.  Your ideas and initiatives can take flight quite quickly; we just need you to bring them. We see the whole person and strive to create an encouraging and flexible work environment where our people can grow and contribute their best.

You’d be joining Accuro at an exciting time.  We have invested in building a new fit-for-purpose policy administration system that will enable us to serve our customers even better and position us well for future growth.

Benefits for you;

  • A growing Kiwi business with 50 years of history
  • Great staff benefits – including free comprehensive health insurance, gym membership and generous KiwiSaver contribution
  • Supportive culture with flexible working options.

The role in a nutshell;

Reporting to the Sales Support Manager, within the Strategy and Commercial team at Accuro, the Account Manager is responsible for onboarding new group sales, annual group renewals, and managing the relationships with your portfolio of external financial advisers and key contacts for direct groups. You’ll focus on providing a top quality, personal service, both proactive and reactive. Working closely with our Business Development Managers, you’ll prepare sales documentation, analyse group data and be instrumental in pricing committee decisions, ensuring our quality products are competitive and sustainable.

Your creativity will be useful in developing account management strategies to engage with and meet advisers’ varying needs remotely, and your initiative is highly valued in your active pursuit of new opportunities from existing and/or new customers through acquisition, retention and growth strategies. You’ll also develop and deliver product training for advisers and members of direct groups as your product knowledge grows.

Experience and skills required;

  • At least 3 years’ account management experience, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Significant experience in customer service and sales.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Adaptable and proactive by nature with good emotional intelligence and empathy.
