Field engineering work, which include surveying, sampling and testing of materials, verify materials incorporated into structures comply with the contract documents, verified field dimensions for structures in construction. Structures include bridges, walls, buildings, barriers, drainage structures, sign structures and other structures.
Office engineering work included calculating grades deflections, stress, alignment and quantity estimates; calculating to check elements of structures (i.e. beams columns, abutments, etc) used in temporary structures; record keeping, filing records pertaining to construction progress including daily reports, monthly pay estimates, etc.
