Te Kai Whaka Ora (The food of life or life-giving food) is a Christian faith-based organization that was established in 2021. Our key purpose is to build and mentor young people holistically through genuine care and connection with them, their families and wider community.  About the role - 20hours per week

We are seeking a part time youth worker to join our team, who will;

• Continue to build and deliver the already existing youth programmes of SALT and KOB, keeping accurate records of attendance and budgeting expenses;
• Continue to develop existing relationships and build new connections with young people, their wider whanau and relational organizations and stakeholders within the community;
• Offer mentoring, support and guidance to young people;
• Alongside the trustees and other stakeholders,  develop and deliver events and activities in the community;
• Apply your qualifications & experience in this rewarding role;

This role works closely alongside young people, therefore, regular supervision is a requirement of the role. This position also works closely with the board and visionaries of Te Kai Whaka Ora to whom the role is accountable.

 About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A commitment to Christian values, active in a lifestyle of caring, sharing and following the gospel of Jesus Christ;
• Youth Work or relevant qualification/s (preferable but not essential);
• Model positive attitudes and behaviors with young people;
• A level of understanding around development needs of young people, ability to relate to youth and be gifted in youth ministry;
• Willingness to work in collaboration with other stakeholder organisations in the community;
• Strong creative and innovation skills;
• Excellent communication and people skills;
• A current NZ full driver's license and a reliable vehic
