Job Description

Where you'll be working

This role supports young people up to 16yrs with eating disorders in the inpatient setting at Royal North Shore Hospital and Hornsby Kuring-Gai Hospital.

What you'll be doing

Providing comprehensive assessment and establishing treatment plans for young people with eating disorders in an inpatient setting.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.

Registered with Authority to Practice with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum five years full time post graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent in the speciality area of paediatric and adolescent eating disorders. Approved post graduate qualification (minimum Grad Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards Masters level qualification relevant to paediatric and adolescent eating disorders. Current NSW Driver’s license.

Demonstrated expert level clinical expertise and leadership in the identification, assessment, management and treatment of children and adolescents with eating disorders and their families.

Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal, written and presentation skills with the ability to liaise, consult and educate key internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage conflicting priorities

Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead quality improvement and research projects, effectively deliver specialist education programmes, and contribute to strategic planning and advocacy for eating disorders and youth health.

Demonstrated advanced computer skills and capacity to use health related information technology systems.

Clinical experience working with young people affected by eating disorders. Advanced skills in liaison with inpatient treating teams.
