Reports to: Store Manager or Greenhouse Manager

Purpose: The Yard Attendant/Operator will efficiently manage the flow of supplies, materials and equipment in and out of Livingstone Outdoor premises. This includes helping customers, receiving, delivering, and housing materials and equipment safely and efficiently. You will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions, operate yard equipment, organize yard site and handle heavy loads while ensuring a positive customer experience.

Position Overview

Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to anyone entering and leaving the yard siteLoad and unload customers who purchase or rent equipment and/or materialsReceive and unload deliveries of sod, bricks, plants, and all other materials to the yard siteDeliver equipment, product and/or material to customers as needed/when requestedAssist customers with handling heavy loads/lifting heavy materials, products and/or equipment Maintain an organized and clean yard site at all timesOperate equipment within yard safely to ensure no damage to customer or workplace propertyPerform equipment pre/post trip inspections, Yard Hazard Assessments and other safety documentation as requiredRespond to two-way radio calls immediately to assist customersAssist Supply & Inventory Manager as assigned Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Grade 12 or equivalentPossess, at minimum, valid class 5 driver’s licenseMinimum 1 year experience operating equipment (Skid Steer, Loader, etc.) requiredAbility to demonstrate safe operations of all equipment requiredExperience working in a brick/supply yard setting or similar role; a considerable assetExperience loading/unloading vehicles with equipmentExperience loading and securing equipment and supplies on trailers for deliveryPossess basic knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment & supplies
