The Equipment team is responsible for fleet acquisitions, fleet management, international maintenance and continuous improvement so that Toll can continue to provide service quality.

Job Description

Toll Global Logistics is hunting a safety driven Leading Hand - Workshop to manage our maintenance crews working on our fleet of modern trucks and trailers. Based at our Karratha workshop, this role reports to the Workshop Manager, and will work on a 2/1 roster comprising of 7 days, 7 nights and 7 off.

You will be responsible to achieve optimum fleet availability through team training, efficiencies and planning. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a step off the tools and lead a small crew of skilled mechanics, apprentices, and auto electricians. This is a full time, permanent role with the opportunity to be home every night.

As the Maintenance Team Lead, you will:

  • Liaise and work collaboratively with opposite shifts and operations teams to delver maintenance targets and outputs.
  • Conduct regular toolbox meetings and facilitate HSE initiatives. 
  • Develop a collaborative ‘customer first’ mind-set by establishing expectations and proactively supervising behaviours.
  • Actively promote the Toll Way core belief that all injuries are preventable and everyone has the right to go home safely.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Australian recognised trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Fitting, Road Transport or similar.
  • 2+ years experience working on heavy machinery, road trains, trucks or other mobile fleet. 
  • Demonstrated experience working on Kenworth, Volvo, and trailers
  • A safety first mindset, and a customer focus in leading a team.
