About the team

The Safety, Environment, Quality & Risk Branch of Sydney Trains delivers support, across all areas of rail safety, environment, quality and risk in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements of a Rolling Stock Operator (RSO) and Rail Infrastructure Maintainer (RIM).

 

The Opportunity

  • Fantastic opportunity to earn while obtaining a nationally recognised qualification
  • Opportunity to play a key role in Sydney Trains and participate in safety assurance and delivery, quality and risk management
  • Contribute to WHS consultative processes for safety, quality, assurance and risk updates and improvement in support of safety and business delivery
  • Assist with the day to day WHS issues
  • Prepare, with support and supervision, safety documentation and reports
  • Work at a variety of Sydney Trains sites (no two days the same)
  • Excellent career opportunities within Transport after completion of the program
  • Burwood location

About you:

  • Note: This is an Aboriginal Identified position. 
  • Eligibility to meet the requirements to enrol in the Certificate IV Work Health and Safety through TAFE/RTO
  • Be enthusiastic and eager to learn on the job by following instructions
  • Participate in a safety assurance and delivery, quality and risk management environment
  • Be proactive and adaptable when priorities change and/or issues arise
  • Willingness to travel to various Sydney Trains sites which can include various rail sites, stations, maintenance centres
  • Comfortable wearing PPE which at times can include safety boots, hard hats
  • Work well within a team environment

Salary

Salary for this position is RC-2 ($65,211 - $74,659) per annum plus superannuation.
