Job Role: Waste Porter (2x)

Contract: Permanent - Full Time

Hours - 37.5 a week

Job Description

We are looking for two waste porters to join a team of operatives / porters ensuring the safe, secure handling and storage of waste at all times. To ensure the requirements and standards laid down by the Company are maintained in relation to the segregation of waste streams collected from site. Shifts will be various patterns based between the hours of 06.00 - 20.00. Enhanced DBS required- Blue Arrow can assist if you do have one.

Main Duties

• Ensure that ad hoc requests for work are allocated
• Ensure periodic bin cleaning is undertaken in accordance with the trust policy
• Report defective equipment or advise the deputy security and logistics manager of any renewals
• Ensure that all waste is segregated correctly and labelled
• Ensure that transport of waste is in a safe and secure manner
• Work as part of a team contributing to the development of the service
• To help maintain a safe working environment and comply with the Company's Policies and Procedures.

Knowledge and skills

• Effective communication skills at all levels
• Good literacy and organisational skills
• Good Customer service skills
• Experience of Waste services within a hospital or similar environment
• Enhanced DBS required- Blue Arrow can assist you if you not have one.
