Social visitor volunteer, HammondCare Horsley

Volunteering at HammondCare is a great experience for you, and a great way to make a difference for people in need. Volunteer with passion and purpose with HammondCare, an independent Christian charity specialising in dementia care.

You’ll find that as you meet new people and make new friends, you’ll gain personal satisfaction and have fun. It’s a way for you to use your skills and past experiences to keep growing – and the learning doesn’t stop. We provide two days of training and ongoing support. HammondCare is located at 116 Shone Ave Horsley.

As you visit and spend time with residents in HammondCare, you may get involved with activities including morning teas, art and craft activities, and one on one social visitor interaction and life engagement. You'll have a broad interests in all things related to cooking, gardening, drawing, painting, exercise, traditional board games, jigsaws, music, dancing, animals and reading.

Ideally you'll be available at least one hour per week for 12 months or longer. We're happy to discuss a suitable day and time.

Successful applicants will be required to complete a national police check which HammondCare will organise and pay for, along with the NDIS Worker Screening Check. You'll need to provide proof of your Covid19 vaccination and be willing to meet our influenza vaccination requirements.
