Reporting to Steve Bezner, Chief Software Development Officer, we are looking for a VP, Software Development. You will play a mission-critical role leading our global engineering team of 150+ developers to successfully design, develop, and deliver the next-generation operations platform, fully aligned with the latest modern cloud architecture standards. You will build partnerships internally and externally to champion your high-performance team and guide the business through its next stage of rapid expansion. You will own and spearhead the strategy to ensure our platform supports a cohesive user experience at scale, unlocks product data in a singular, extensible view, and brings together legacy and new capabilities in data, products, and services. 

This is a highly strategic and visible role with a profound impact across all levels of the organization. You have spent time in startup and scaling organizations, and you are looking for the next challenge at a global industry leader undergoing an exciting transformation. 

Who you are

You have 10+ years driving and measuring the growth and technical work of a high-performing team at international technology companies. You are action-oriented and analytics-driven with a clear understanding of the need for effective KPIs that produce meaningful data to drive processes, controls, and create room for flexibility. You have experience, perhaps scars, at rescuing projects with a finely tuned ability to identify and mitigate risk. You excel at Leadership, People Skills, Management, Technology, and Process.

What you will focus on:

As the VP of Software Development, you will manage a multi-million dollar budget and lead a chapter encompassing groups and squads to effectively deliver a commercial outcome aligned to the customer offer roadmap. You will ensure we are effectively positioned from a talent and a technical strategy to deliver quality secure, performant, cost-effective, and user experience friendly solutions. You will:

Own, challenge, and guide product designs. You will lead the work, alongside the architecture team, to ensure the successful design, development and delivery of serverless cloud patterns, applying a security mindset and a framework for resilience and scalability.

Take an analytical approach. You will be metrics-driven, applying results to improve process and structure, augment resources, recognize patterns, validate technical approaches, and set up a workflow that moves the SDLC along to the next step

Nurture change. You will manage stakeholders up and down the communication stream, seeking to understand and validate solutions, tools, and costs. This is an exciting time that requires transparent, ongoing communication and the ability to understand and mitigate risk. You will confidently delegate to your management team and scale your own objectives and work.

Understand the need for effective structure, operational planning and the management of program and project plans and delivery commitments. You will focus on the customer value created by the development teams and take a customer-first mentality in everything you do. You will network with customers to hear first-hand their experiences and future needs. 

Respond to those needs proactively, building a high-performance culture amongst the best technical talent out there. You will foster trust, identify skills gaps and strengths, and facilitate the professional growth of our development teams as individuals and as a group. You will create a playbook for the successful integration of talent joining via acquisitions.
